The pre-release material for GCSE Core, Additional and Triple Science Ideas in Context exams 2011 are now available to download from the respective exams pages linked below. The Ideas in Context exam papers will contain questions which link ideas from the 21st Century Science modules to real life situations detailed in the pre-release material.

Year 10 and Year 11 January GCSE module exam dates

GCSE Pupils in Year 10 and Year 11 will be sitting their Science GCSE Module Exams in January

Year 10 Double Science Pupils will be sitting a Core Science exam for modules B2 C2 P2. Some pupils will be resitting B1 C1 P1 exam.

Year 10 Triple Science Pupils will be sitting thre exams: Biology B1 B2 B3, Chemistry C1 C2 C3, and Physics P1 P2 P3. They will also sit the core B2 C2 P2 and B3 C3 P3 exams.

Brush the cobwebs away from your knowledge of the first topics that you learnt last year with new extra resources for B1, C1 and P1 units. There are revision cards and example questions and answers for you to work through. This will help you prepare both for your mocks and for the REAL THING in January!

Attention all Year 10 and 11 students preparing for the Ideas in Context papers on 28th May (Year 10) and 9th June (Year11). You can download the pre-release material and workbooks from the Year 10 Core Exam Page and the Year 11 Additional Exam Page!

In addition, to help you prepare, you may wish to download the 2009 Pre-release material and the corresponding 2009 Ideas in Context paper to give you an idea of how the exam paper questions relate to the pre-release articles. This will give you a better idea of the questioning styles and the level of understanding that you will need!

Pupils in Years 10 and 11 who are currently studying for the 21st Century GCSE awards can now access all the resources for each of their topics:

Presentations - power point presentations seen in class

Animations - Interactive FLASH animations which are ideal for REVISION

Movies clips - All the movie clips relevant to each topic can be played straight from the browser

Look for the link which can be accessed via the Year 10 or Year 11 pages in the secure PUPIL ZONE area.

21st Century GCSE ebooks:

Electronic versions of the 21st Century GCSE textbooks used in class are now available to view on the site. These can be accessed via the secure Year 10 and Year 11 pages in PUPIL ZONE area (you will need a password to get in!).

New Science Website Goes Live!

Science at Debden Park has entered an exciting new era with the development of a new website which aims to provide an active interface between teachers, pupils and the world of science and education.

Debden Home for Science

The Debden Park Science Sector is accessible to teachers and pupils over the internet. The site hopes to provide easy access to both school-based e-learning resources, science team information and links to relevant websites that facilitate communication and learning in science.

Extension and Revision

The site should prove an invaluable resource to help pupils achieve in science at Debden, especially in preparation for exams such as Key Stage 3 tests and GCSE exams. By providing active links to recommended sites, pupils can map out their revision and extend their knowledge and understanding.

Supporting Everyone

The interactive resources available should provide support for pupils with different learning styles and abilities, providing another channel through which learners access the curriculum.

Evolution not revolution!

Let us not go around in circles. Feedback from pupils and staff is welcomed so that this resource grows and evolves with the changing needs of the school. Contributions are welcomed. Maybe pupils would like to try writing some articles for their Year Group pages.
