Homework is set by subject teachers in order to enable students to develop their skills and to reinforce ideas and knowledge, which they have learned in the classroom. It also enables us to continually assess their progress and to monitor their development.
We trust that parents will encourage their child to complete all tasks on time and to the best of their ability, it is important that right from the start of their secondary education they become accustomed to undertaking individual work and performing tasks to a strict timetable. They need to develop this skill of time management.
Homework may not necessarily involve writing, it may include reading, learning, researching, constructing and with subjects such as science writing up classroom practicals, or completing tasks undertaken in the classroom. Thus homework can cover a wide variety of differing activities.
It will be of assistance to us if you will regularly check your child's Planner to monitor their homework tasks.
